THE ANATOMY OF A DIVINATION
PART 4
THE ONGOING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DIVINER AND CLIENT
By Saad Talia

The reading is over!  The diviner has talked for an extended period of time, you’ve listened intently, asked all the right questions at the appropriate moment and had the diviner prioritize the actions required to bring about positive changes – in short the session went well and you’re walking away.  Now what?

You can and should clarify what kind of after-session package your diviner is offering.  This is a matter of common sense.  I’ll use the analogy of a trainee driver to illustrate what I mean - When a person is learning to drive, they are let out on the road with an instructor so they can practice and learn as they go along.  Changing your life after a reading is pretty much the same.  You need on-going assistance to reinforce the priorities and guidelines you’ve received.  There are many types of after-session responses you will receive from diviners.  They may range from,

a) Nothing – You are not encouraged to stay in touch.  The diviner does not expect it and is in no way set up, mentally or logistically, to sustain a continuing   relationship with you.  In short, you are on you own, to do what you will with the insights you’ve gained.  This is most common with fledgling diviners, the unscrupulous or those who can not, or will not, sustain the connection they’ve formed with a client.
b) Partial – The diviner grants you limited access, perhaps for a week or a month, and is prepared to discuss your reading (and only that) with you to facilitate further clarification.  For lack of a better option, this may have to suffice.
c) Complete – The diviner is available for consultation on a regular basis.  This may or may not entail a fee.  Ask.  You can ask for clarification at any time, discuss new events, thoughts and plans and receive feedback from an impartial observer who is bound be the code of privacy.  It also has the advantage of giving you an on-going insight into your development.  As an example, my teacher was the first diviner from whom I received a reading.  He was set up to take palm prints (using a simple sheet of paper & an ink roller, this was in the “good old days”) and he kept the prints on file indefinitely.  I studied with him daily for a year and once every quarter he and I would review my old print.  It was a time of great change in my life and I was able to track the changes in my hand.  I would not go as far as saying I could understand or interpret each change but I could see it happening and once I began to understand how my actions were influencing the lines, it all made sense and, most importantly, it reassured me that I was changing and it was visible.

It is not my place to tell you what you should decide – when you first talk to a diviner and you decide to use his/her services to help you, you may be bound by circumstance (i.e. you or the diviner are just not available to do follow-ups on a regular basis because either or both of you are visiting or you’re not inclined at that time).  However, given a choice, I would at the very least seek out a diviner who would give me partial after-session access.  Many times, fresh insights come to you once the reading is over and you’ve had time to reflect on what was divulged.

Personally, I grant my clients full access after their session.  I make it clear that the link we created together is only good for thirty to sixty days.  During this period, the initial link is sufficient for me to give the client feedback on the session, clarify things if needed and reinforce the priorities I’ve given.  I also state that I cannot sustain the connection beyond the stipulated period.  The client must do that by staying in touch and using my talent to gain an understanding of the ongoing events of his/her life.  I have been fortunate to remain in contact with my clients.  It is perhaps the most rewarding part of being talented – being able to view the success my clients have made of their lives, using guideposts and insights I gave them.
