Astroids, Dwarf planets, and Goddesses by Nadiya Shah
Pluto
is this gorgeous thing of a planet, representing power, sex, intimacy,
life, death, betrayal, forgiveness, transformation, rebirth, and the
occult. thats allot for a little planet to do. Pluto is like a forest
fire. When this planet transits
you everything falls down (and it hurts like heck!) before it is
rebuilt. but what is rebuilt is so much more worthy of you- if you
choose to work it's transit.
So now there's all this talk
lately "Is Pluto still a planet?, Will it still rule Scorpio?"... as of
this writing Pluto is being called a "dwarf planet", and there are no
plans to change Scorpio's rulership. Some astrologers are theorizing
this change in Pluto's status as a wonderful thing! With all the
pressure of a traditional planet no longer there Pluto's energies can
be cleared up so that the "destroy" part of Pluto feels less severe and
the "transformation" part gets more emphasis. We'll see how this all
plays out.
But the great thing is that now Goddesses Ceres and Xena are being considered for their greater impact on us, as well as Chiron.
The unofficial planet Xena is now officially dwarf planet Eris. Eris
was the Greek Goddess of Strife. She is associated with starting the
Trojan War! but there are 2 types of strife she is connected with. The
external strife that causes wars- not good. And the internal strife
that motivates us to make changes and be better versions of ourselves-
really great. I love looking at celebrity astrology birth charts. The
one thing that I love is that while most would expect alot of easy
aspects and smooth sailing, but the truth is the people we would
consider "most successful" have charts filled with challenging aspects.
We need those challenges to inspire us to grow and motivate us to
greater personal heights.
Though Eris' full astrological
meaning are yet to be officially determined, What some astrologers are
hoping is that Eris signals a new understanding within us as to the
source and root of our personal and collective discord, so that we are
more inspired to move and grow beyond them. Self-Honesty may be one of
her gifts. Should be interesting how she manifests.
Chiron is
the mythological wounded healer. in a persons chart he represents where
the potential lies for deep, fundamental healing, as well as the
mind-body-spirit connection to healing. Chiron works on healing those
wounds that seem like they will never heal. what a gift that is! As
mentioned earlier with challenging aspects, sometimes they can hurt-
alot! sometimes we need pain to help us learn and motivate us to
change. Where I see Chiron in my own or a person's chart, I tell them
"pursue this, spend time in this area of your life, for that is where
huge personal evolution and healing can take place, if you let it".
Again, a huge gift we may only realize in retrospect. Chiron Aspects
are also important to discuss when doing chart interpretation.
Ceres
is the Greek Goddess of Agriculture and rules the seasons, fertility,
all aspects of reproduction including birth control, birth, and
menapause. Parenting and Nutrition, including eating disorders or our
ability to take nutrition in. A great planet to examine where we allow
ourselves to be nurished,
how we parent, how we take care of others, and how we approach our own
ability to "go with the flow" of the seasons in our lives.
